Become a MMEA member

You can join two different ways:

  1. Join or renew online at nafme.org/join-renew/
  2. Sign-up by phone with credit card by calling NAfME toll-free at (800) 336-3768

When you join NAfME you choose MMEA as your state chapter organization. MMEA provides services and leadership specific to Minnesota, and NAfME provides an overall focus and presence through its programs and services, significant advocacy work at the federal level, and through its many national initiatives. Membership is open to any teacher, administrator or member of the public who is interested in supporting music education.

Why you should become a member

In addition to NAfME member perks, being a member of MMEA gives you access to MMEA programming, discounted fees to the Midwinter Clinic and ensures that you receive timely updates on MMEA’s activities and advocacy work.

MMEA Midwinter Clinic: Held each February, this event features over 100 educational sessions and clinics, 30 performances, and numerous diverse exhibits from the music industry.

Elementary and Middle-Level Festivals: Non-competitive festival experiences for 4th- through 9th-graders held during March and April at multiple sites across the state.

All-State Bands, Choirs, and Orchestra: Enrichment opportunities for high-achieving 11th- and 12th-grade musicians. All-State includes auditions in March, week-long camp in August and performance in February during the Midwinter Clinic.

Interval: The Minnesota Music Educators Journal: A quarterly publication featuring news and information about music education, and MMEA programs and services.

Advocacy: Provides information and resources to music educators, parents and community members on advocating for music education in K-12 schools.

Services and Programs from NAfME
