MMEA February All-State Dates:

REHEARSAL INFORMATION

This includes rehearsal locations, concert dress code, what to bring and MORE! Please note that all students are responsible for bringing a bag lunch that caters to their dietary restrictions.

    Student Accommodations:

    • Hilton Hotel – Limited student-rate rooms are available for All-Staters. They sell out fast. First come, first serve!
      • Reserve your room online at the Hilton in the block of rooms reserved for MMEA! 2027 Discounted block rate is $105/night (1 room, double beds) – if you call, make sure to mention the MMEA Student Block and dates (Feb 18th-20th)
      • Under Minneapolis law, an adult must be present at check-in and must stay in the room with students.

    Rehearsal Attendance Policy:

    • You must attend ALL rehearsals. Region and section contests are not excused absences.
    • Talk with coaches, jobs, and teachers soon! CLEAR THAT SCHEDULE!
    • If your school ensemble is performing at the MMEA Midwinter Convention on Friday, you are excused from your All-State rehearsal for your ensemble’s warm-up and performance time.
    • Rehearsals for Jazz Band will be from 12:15 PM to concert times on Thursday, February 18th. All other ensembles (Choirs, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Orchestra) will have rehearsal from 12:15 PM to 7:30 PM on Friday, February 19th. Concert Band, Symphonic Band and Orchestra also have rehearsal on Saturday morning. Dinner will be provided on Friday to the students, with considerations for all dietary restrictions.

    Eligibility for All-State:

    • You must be enrolled in your school’s corresponding ensemble through February. If you are no longer enrolled, contact MMEA at info@mmea.org.

    Purchase Tickets for All-State Concerts

    100% of February Concert admission proceeds go towards MMEA Scholarships! In 2026, MMEA awarded a total of $48,315.00 in scholarship funds and 147 scholarships to students for the 2026 All-State Camps and 2027 All-State February Event. Thank you for supporting our student singers and musicians!

        • please note that a ticket to the instrumental concert will admit you to all three instrumental ensemble concerts (Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Orchestra)
      • Some important information for guests about Orchestra Hall policies (See more on their terms and conditions page):
        • Entrance Requirements: Orchestra Hall requires proof of event attendance to enter Orchestra Hall during event times as the event space is reserved for invited guests. A ticket, invitation, order confirmation, registration list or other such item for each person will be necessary upon arrival at the exterior doors.
        • Large Bag Policy: For safety and speed of entry, we discourage bringing large bags or items to events at Orchestra Hall. We reserve the right to decline admittance of any item that may obstruct or hinder aisle passages or exit doors and/or that is deemed suspicious. All backpack size or larger items are subject to search upon arrival, and you may be asked to store them for the duration of the event. Medical bags and parenting bags are permitted and are subject to search.
        • Cameras and Recording Devices: The use of cameras and recording devices is prohibited during performances.  Telephoto or zoom lenses, or other photography equipment will not be allowed inside the Auditorium.

    All-State Performance Recordings from Orchestra Hall:

    You will receive an email a few weeks after the All-State February Concert with a link to download a free recording (audio only) of your All-State Ensemble performance from Orchestra Hall when it is ready. You will only get ONE (1) free download from that link.
