Winds, Brass, and Percussion
- Note to directors: All scales (except chromatic) can now be practiced together by an ensemble to help prepare students for successful auditions. Get Full Score Scales for Directors HERE!
- No solo requirement this year.
- No scale or solo requirement for percussion. Snare and mallet etude only.
- Mallet etude may be played on any mallet percussion instrument.
Each Woodwinds, Brass, and Percussion Audition Should Include:
- Etude(s): Woodwinds and brass submit one recording of complete etude. Percussion submits two recordings, one for each of the two etudes required.
- Scales: Record the entire scale page in one continuous take for woodwinds and brass, no scale requirement for percussion
- Each recording above must be a separate file, and each file must be recorded in one continuous take. See Guidance for Video File Auditions for more information.
Audition Materials By Instrument
2024 Etudes: All Woodwinds and Brass – NOTE: The sheet music says you can choose either ending, but that is incorrect. Please use the ending that we indicate for each instrument on auditionsolos.com for your etude.
